I need to get a nice tin of flake for when I'm out and about. I like a good flake.Suggestions anyone. I tend to like the Virginias. Nothin candylike but not heavy latakia either.

I thought the Peterson University Flake was good, although I have only smoked it once, so far, but it's a good Virginia tobacco that burns well and tastes good.

How about Capstan blue, Erinmores, Irish flakes or Kendal Cream? No latakia and not too mild either.

Good suggestions....My local sells Erinmore and Dunhill virginia flake also. I believe that have Irish flake too. I'll look into it. I like how the flakes burn in outdoor conditions.

Speaking off topic again but i recently saw a funny thread in one of the Scandinavian pipe forums. It was about pipe smoking in comics.
Now i'm sure that everybody knows mr Haddock but these gentlemen might not be so well known outside Europe.

First there's Nick Knatterton from Germany. Knatterton was a master detective who got into dangerous situations very often and was saved only for his brilliant mind.

Secondly there was Rymy-Eetu when i was kid. Might translate something like 'rumbling Edward'. It was published between 1930-68. Even i had those books when i was a kid. I'm sure most folks here have grown with Eetu and his pipe. Btw there's a great pub named after Rymy-Eetu in our capital city. Always worth visiting if you happen to be around
Howevers here's Eetu lighting his pipe. The second pic is from 1939, Eetu at war.

I've had the Orlik which wasn't too bad actually. I may go for MacBaren since I really like their tobaccos. I'll be lookin at Pipes and cigars website soon here. Thanks guys.
