I am too new to pipe smoking to say, I have not even had two bowls of the same tobacco. So far I like them all, and I have not tried a true aromatic yet. I do have two new tins that came with the Capstan, which I like BTW, McClleland Wilderness and Nording Hunting Blend Pointer. Both smell fantastic out of the tin, and I have a feeling one of them may be a favorite, We'll see.

I guess I should answer my own question.
My two would be Peterson's University Flake and an aromatic blend from my local tobacconist called "Black Gold".
This list will probably change 3 times by next week. 😀
This morning, it's Black Gold in a Peterson.God be in my head and in my understanding. God be in my eyes and in my looking. God be in my mouth and in my speaking. God be in my heart and in my thinking. God be at my end and my departing. -Amen

That is a tough one. I have maybe 4 or 5 blends that i smoke regularly and i could live without the rest. They are just occasional spice.
However, if i had to pick only two then other would be something based on VA. Maybe Capstan blue/best brown/University Flakes/Old Gowrie. And the other would be something oriental: Balkan Flakes, Germain's 1820, Chonowitz T17, Presbyterian or such.
In the world of only two blends i would miss very much those few lightly aromatics: Erinmore and Choco flakes.
I do not smoke hard core aromatics, the ones that smell like strawberry, tutti frutti or lace underwear of a dutchess. They don't seem to have much nicotine at all.
Back to this day of many blends. Estonian ice cold beer and some Capstan from Jirsa aka early evening enjoyment by the walls of the medieval castle of Haapsalu, Estonia.
Been in this little town for many times before, but this time there's a big dog contest/Estonian championships going on. Lot of folks from eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Germany and Russia.
