I'm working on my PhD in Global Leadership. My research and writing are toward a leadership model I'm creating to close the gap between western centered leadership knowledge and theory with leadership knowledge and theory within other cultures. It will help the researcher narrowly define the context of their subject and/or study. I'm calling it the Cultural Anthropological Leadership Model and I hope it can help those who study leadership to better understand and take into consideration the cultural differences that play a huge part in defining and understanding actions such as leadership.

Sorry to hear about your rents getting high. From the backlands of the earth, those prices are, eh, beyond understanding. With little luck here you can get a whole house or villa at the sea shore for 500€/month. My daughter & son-in-law live in a 4 room, almost new student apartment with a nice sight over the city and sea for about 140€. Free internet, cable TV and laundry included.

Howevers, i've read that less than 50% of all EU citizen understand English at all, maybe more in western EU because in the former eastren block countries English speaking people are very rare. So i would imagine there's always work for those who speak English by birth.

Of course you had to learn a local language first, but like English, Swedish and German are Germanic languages thus easy to learn for an average English speaker. And if you speak Swedish, then Danish and Norwegian aren't that bad either (speaking Danish is like speaking Swedish with a too hot potato in your mouth ), (sorry, Danes).
Finnish and any language they speak in Eastern Europe might be more tricky, but hey: think about all those Scandinavian and Eastern European beauties, only waiting for the change to teach you how to speak their language!
Not to speak about Danish pipes and beer/pivo from great breweries of Germany, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland and Latvia.

Sounds intriguing. I'll be on the lookout for it when its completed.

Do you plan to publish any articles based on your dissertation or just publish it as a book?
