that i definately will do. gonna probably run about 1/2 a irish flake in it to start

That is most gentlemanny thought and true christmas spirit.
I'm sure you will enjoy your gift. Just take some time to break it well and you will get a good smoker of it. It is not always about brand or make to be a good smoker. Most of my pipes are estate.

i can honestly say i didnt see a manufacturers stamp on it, that kinda scares me, but again, i will take my time with it, and hope it comes out well in the end.

I had a small no name pipe years ago, that turned into a favourite. Don't worry about brand so much, you'll either like the pipe once it's saddle broke, or you won't. Since it is a thoughtful gift, I daresay it'll hold a place in your heart regardless of how it smokes though.

I've had no name pipes smoke well and expensive name pipes like Peterson or Stanwells smoke like crap! In fact I had 2 Petersons go right up in flames on me. You couldn't give me one now unless you wanted to be hit with it! Lol

any help with that stinger would be appreciated.weather to leave it in,or remove it
