Thomas, you're wrong. Soviet soldiers didn't have Machorka. They smoked Soviet cigarettes without filter like: Охотничьи, Донские, Дымок, Ватра ...
But most of these cigarettes were worse than Machorka.
All soldiers outside Soviet Union got identical cigarettes from the army.

    Maybe, Alex.
    Don't remember the brands
I always smoked my own cigarettes when I got in contact with our "brothers".

A 'White Russian' is a sweet cocktail in the US, which is probably where the name comes from. Vodka, coffee liqueur, and cream. A lot of sweet aromatics in the US are named after alcohol.

Dated a girl once who drank large quantities of White Russians on a fairly regular basis. Poor thing, after five or six White Russians, her clothes would mysteriously start falling off.

Newbie from Florida. Just started out with a starter set from the local tobacconist and my trusty USS Enterprise Zippo. He gave me a free sample of Cherry. I've been smoking the House Blend. I greatly appreciate any tips and recommendations for a new pipe smoker. I am thinking about trying the Samuel Galwith Chocolate Flake next. That seems to be a crowd-pleaser.
