Woke up with this playing in my head:

So I started listening to a bunch of REM. Some great music, many of those songs I've not heard in years. By evening I should be listening to Dave Matthew's Band.

I suspect there's a pretty good chance that I've posted this here before, but it's one of those ones I keep going back to from time to time. Pearl Jam are great. Pearl Jam + Uncle Neil are GREAT.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture with my morning shave. Saved my against the grain strokes for the finale with live cannon fire. I had a BBS shave and Napoleon lost again.

Funny story about this. In the early 90's (when MTV still occassionally played music) PJ and Neil Young played this song. The following day one of my troops (a young kid who didn't know any better) asked me if I'd seen Pearl Jam playing there new song. He then observed that there was "some old man jammin with them". Well, I didn't bother to contain a belly laugh when I explained that the "old man was Neil Young who not only wrote Pearl Jam's "new song" 25 years before, but was rockin grunge rock before the likes of Eddie Vedder and Kurt Cobain were even thought of. Good cover of a great Neil Young song though.

A few years ago I was in our break room taking my lunch and there was a 16 year old kid who had 'Discovered' Eric Clapton and was going on and on about how he'd done Sunshine of Your Love and Crossroads in 1974 and they were so cool.

I looked at him and said "Your off by about 6 years he did those in '68 or '69". He asked how the hell I'd know and I told him "Cause I'm Old, I was there". He asked "How old are you man"? I said "50" and he replied "GOD you are Old, you're older than my folks". I said; "Tried to tell ya son".
