I stumbled upon a Live Performance that I consider took Balls To Do! To not only take a Beatles Classic Album that was not only studio produced but very heavily enhanced with all of the gimmicks that the studio had to offer but to do it track by track and do it well! Yes they had a bit of electronic magic that the Beatles wouldn't have had to play this album live (and never did) but still.
I do hope all have the time to not only listen but watch a wonderful tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Beatles Sgt Pepper album by Cheap Trick.

More like fifty years ago today, no? I remember tales of Cheap Trick playing in Centennial Park, in Highland Park, Illinois, where I went to junior high school in 1977. It was before their hit, "Surrender," so they weren't all that well known at the time (even though they were from Rockford). The only ones that were really in the know about them were GIs and sailors who had been stationed in Japan, the live At Budokan album subsequently making them a household name.
Anyway, that link took me back a bit, and reminded me of Paul McCartney's story of how Jimi Hendrix had figured out and started playing "Sgt. Pepper's" within 48 hrs. of its original release, much to the Beatles' amazement. So here's some footage of the Jimi Hendrix Experience playing the intro to "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" back in 1967.
Striving to be brief, I become obscure. --Horace

Putting up the Christmas tree enjoying some bottle conditioned ales and port and listening to some Chieftains, reminds me of my childhood .Last edited by markbignosekelly; 12-03-2017 at 03:55 PM.
