Thanked: 124If anyones been wondering, that Deus Ex game that was just released is really good. I finished that a few days ago.
I may have to get that space marine game, that looks fun. Its kind of the opposite of Deus Ex, where you fight from cover and are all stealty, so it might make for a nice change. I was kind of wary of it b/c I didnt like the last space marine game I tried much. The squad combat game.

Thanked: 124Its pretty long if you do all the side quests and explore and such. They're optional, so you could ignore them if you want, but you might end up pretty weak, you upgrade you character and weapons and such. I played it on hard so I died alot even with upgrades, but I'd prefer dying alot to being overpowered. Which reminds me of the one semi complaint I had with the game, long load times on saves. But those really didnt bug me that much.

Thanked: 46That's assuming you can even find a PC game that isn't just ported from console. It used to be that games drove the PC hardware market forward, especially regarding video cards, but now the easy money is in console games. It sucks and it hurts innovation, but that's what's happening.
Over the years I've seen about every kind of "fanboi" chewed up and spat out by the industry. Sega v Sony v nVidia v ATi/AMD v Intel v Nintendo v Atari v Kalicovision v ... it's a volitile industry and what rocks you socks this week might blow chunks next week. Right now PC gaming is on the losing end, even with the better CPUs and GPUs. The industry just isn't driving that way right now. Next year, who knows. Everything might change again, but a bunch of fanbois will be finding themselves getting laughed at no matter what happens. Which ones, I don't know.
Personally I gave up being personally invested in one brand a long time ago.

Yep, you're right... and it's sad.
I played 3 hours of COD2 tonight and will buy BF3 - just to see what happens.
I'll wipe my arse with the rest.
I won't buy the crap, so they won't get my money, but I know somebody's daddy is pouring funds into what's making gaming suck.

yeah, i remember when pc games were the ones ported to consoles, usually poorly and we laughed at consoles inferior FPS ability. anyone who played a console wasn't a serious gamer.
On the other hand i do get why people have shifted to consoles in a way, limited combinations of hardware makes it easier to develop games that aren't buggy depending on your setup (in theory anyway, i notice patching on the PS3/360 gen consoles has become common). I hated that too.. lets rush out a not completely tested game to market and we'll just patch it later..

Is it me, or is there an excessive amount of cheating going on with PS3/XBox Call of Duty's latest game? I wanna know how they are doing it, just to do it back to them when it occurs!
