The new Omega with the 321 movement is going for US $20,000, interesting to see how it will sell.

I think the new DeVille with the coaxial mvmt in stainless can be had for around 4 grand.

Happy to hold one of these Liv’s in hand as they are flooding my inbox and look nice.
Too big for my wrist and also feel a little unrefined around the large edges. High quality feel, just not for me.

An Egard GSP sweetheart I really liked. Which was also easy to read despite how it looks at first glance.

An Original Grain Made from actual old ammo boxes and flight jacket leather.
Also a very nice watch I’d add to the collection.
All three mechanical, and well loved..
    Just wanted to share.
Doesn't this company make hubcaps for Minis?,like Invicta there just too big to be comfortable.

The gent at work who owns those three is CDN military, MMA fighter, 270lbs with arms bigger than my legs so he can pull off the bigger faces, me I stay around 40mm.
He’s also in his 30s and like my own son seems drawn to bigger watches than I like. Maybe it’s a generation thing regarding the style.
While 2 of the 3 are Kickstarter companies, none of them felt like Chinese hubcaps in my hands, so maybe that too is a generational thing but I think the references made to their inception or build aren’t really justified.
They are all somewhere between 500-1000$ CDN to purchase, and felt, to me, to be worth their respective price points for mechanical watches.
The fact that there were aspects to all of them I liked is why I posted the share in the ‘watches that I like’ thread.
Keep an open mind folks, not everyone wants or can afford 4000$+ watches.

After reading this thread I find that hard to believe.

You guys sure have some beautiful watches. My Timex Expedition cost about 50 bucks-no pic necessary as they're all over Amazon lol!

If you like Divers, Long Island Watch Co came out with their own line of watches. Their divers are Seiko clones but with sapphire xtls and ceramic bezels and Seiko Mvmts. They go for $300. A bargain.

Keep in mind Rolex sells well over a million watches a year and most are around 8 grand and higher and they can't make them fast enough.

My first "real watch". As long as i can remember i've always been fascinated by mechanical/auto watches, bt never really had the inclination or the money to buy a good one myself. I love watches that are complex in some way, not just a simple quartz with 3 hands, but something more.

Smartwatches seemed like the perfect fit, got really into those for a few years, but invariably got bored of it, it's just a phone on your wrist, i don't need another phone, no fun. I bought a hamilton khaki auto, but returned it and bought this one. LOVING the sliderule, only had it for a week and already i reach for my watch at the grocery store to calcular price/unit instead of my phone.

As an aside: tagheuers straps are the single best type of strap EVER, and i do not understand why they're not industry standard. Leather/Rubber strap with NO HOLES and microadjustable. Yea...NO HOLES, which means the strap can be adjusted down to the micrometer adhoc!

Originally watches were in the 32-34mm size and were pretty much like that until the 1970s when the sizes started to increase to 38-40mm. It's been pretty much from the 90s that sizes have gotten kind of out of hand. Many younger folks and some not so young like these 48 and 50+mm sizes. Personally I have small wrists so anything bigger than 43mm looks like a clown watch.

Also some watches wear smaller than others. Watches like divers with big bezels and small xtls tend to wear smaller than they are while watches with tiny bezels can look larger than they actually are.

Similarly, the thickness of the watch also can make a smaller watch look huge and be uncomfortable as can the lug design.
