Orient are great bang for the buck watch. Bulova has some neat models which are reasonable (they are owned by citizen) and even Timex has some very nice models. Check out their made in America Series. Check out Sinn and Damasko, their entry level models are in your price range and they are great watches. Aquadive is another one. There are loads of micro brands selling nice watches for a few hundred bucks.

Spending more for a watch doesn't necessarily get you a better watch. Once you hit a grand it's more about the name on the watch. It's all about the law of diminishing returns.

Thank you for your input.. I am glad that you said Orient is very good brand for the dollar.. Almost all of their mens Sport style watches are visually pleasing to me and seem to have fair price points.. Also agree with the $1000 and over is paying for that name.. Been looking at a number of smaller and under the radar companies so to speak and a lot have caught my eye.. Heard of Aquadive and will look at them and the others you mentioned also.. I also noticed Alpina has a lot of their watches marked down to some real good prices, though ive heard of the name not sure of the reputation yet.. Do like Bulova and Hamilton watches especially the Military Field Watch is an icon..
Once again thank you and if i didnt say in my original post i am looking toward sport/dive/everyday watch.. Scott

I have two of the Orient Mako 11. One in black and one in blue. Great watch for the money.

I wear the black one a lot at the weekends, we spend most of those in the desert, offroad driving and it gets knocked about a bit, still looks good.

I just saw on Timezone a Bulova Oceanographer. A really sharp looking vintage style watch around $700 but you can probably find it cheaper.

It's funny you mention that,I just had to remind my buddy, who just got a gold Rolex, that you have to be aware of where you wear it. I have the 1941 Tutima in solid gold and I became very aware that people were looking at it, you have to remember that you are wearing a small new car on your wrist, and some of your friends are not really in the position to spend that kind of money on a watch.....

Any flashy piece of jewelry is going to garner attention from folks. Some like that and some don't.

You always have to watch where you wear stuff like that. Any Rolex is a target and everyone knows what a Rolex is.

Always amazed to see tourists wearing jewelry in countries where you could get mugged or worse for the runners you are wearing.

Happy to hold one of these Liv’s in hand as they are flooding my inbox and look nice.
Too big for my wrist and also feel a little unrefined around the large edges. High quality feel, just not for me.

An Egard GSP sweetheart I really liked. Which was also easy to read despite how it looks at first glance.

An Original Grain Made from actual old ammo boxes and flight jacket leather.
Also a very nice watch I’d add to the collection.
All three mechanical, and well loved..
    Just wanted to share.
