I saw a couple watches on this list that I would like to add to my collection, namely the hamilton jazzmaster, the seiko Seiko SARX015, tissot visodate, and the Anstead oceanis!!! Best Watch Brands under $500: Affordable Timepieces Made with Actual Craftsmanship – Watch Judge Blog

It's a Longines Les Grande Classique Automatic Chronograph....after my shave, going to try to find some info about this one:

For me it is Pocket Watches (mechanical of course) all the way!

Currently wearing a Charles-Hubert, Paris 3928 Classic Collection Chrome Finish Brass Mechanical Pocket Watch (a side winder.)
A skeleton pocket watch that allows you to see the working parts.
"Side winders" have the stem coming out at the "3" instead of the "12".
You wind it up from the side -- get it?

Pocket watches are as addictive as straight razors!

Phrank. Congrats on a very nice example of a difficult to find watch. Can I ask you if the dial is flat or does it have a sunburst feature. It's a little hard to tell from your pic. This watch is a Longines Reference L4.686.4 with a 38mm case size. The movement is a Longines caliber L667.2 (the pic below shows you what's inside) which is modified Valjoux 7750 made by ETA. You'll know this by the friendly whirring sound and gyro like vibrations you'll feel when the rotor is freewheeling. It's one of the most unique and recognizable features of this movement. The family did a fantastic job to find this one. You should enjoy it for a long time. It looks sweet.

Hey - thanks very much for the info!

Yes, that is the exact reference number, is on the back case.

When you refer to sunburst, not sure what that means, but the crystal on the watch face is flat...so it seems it's that same movement as the Tag I have, the V 7750..which perfectly explains the "whirring". Really like the solid feel of this one, great weight to it, if you say it's hard to find, I could only find two other examples of it, not much info on it at all.

    Thanks very much again....

I like mechanical automatics. My wife gave me a Tissot Le Locle for our 30 anniv.. Very partial to that for several reasons, not the least its a classy looking piece.
