Yes, but we all know Roger Moore was never a James Bond. Not really
    So that doesn't count!

In my opinion, I couldn't agree more....

James Bond is Sean Connery....the rest are all B-Team......

I have seen Shinola watches brought up in this thread a couple of times. Does anyone here own one and want to share their impression of the product?

Have a black Di Modell Rallye perforated waterproof watch strap on the way if I feel like changing things up, always liked life on the edge...

Omega Speedmaster Automatic...not too big, and fits perfectly on my 7" wrist:
    Classy! I like it!

Cleaning up the mother in laws house with my wife and her sister I cam across what could be my new favorite watch if I can get it working once more.
My wife's great grandfather hailed from Massachusetts before coming north. This was his pocket watch.

    American Watch Co.
Based on the movement s.n. It's mfg date was 1872.
Crystal is gone, and the minute hand is barely hanging on but it has potential, and even the winding key still after 150 years in the family.
Have to try to resurrect this family time piece.
Any tips on replacement crystals and/or hand replacement availability will be gratefully appreciated gentlemen.
    Cheers.

They deserve credit for manufacturing in the U.S especially in Detroit.

Nothing special. Imported movements and cases and pretty much everything from the far east and they assemble only in the U.S. They have ambitions to do more down the road.

General things like xtls can be bought new. Hands are out there. You need to find a watch guy who specializes on vintage and antique pieces and he will get the parts from other old watches and get it going again.

Seiko Quartz SQ100. It was my father's.I'm not shure what year it was made. After sitting in a drawer in my desk the last 10 years,
it got a cleaning, new gasket and a new battery. Now it runs again. Sorry about the poor cell phone picture.

With Seiko it's easy. The serial number on back is the date of manufacture. it's usually the year and the month and the number within the month of that caliber. If you go to the Seiko and Citizen Forum they have a calculator.

Those early models are very well made and run forever. I have a 4004 which is from 1976 and it still runs like a top.

My grandmother's watch spent 6 months in Australia last year, but the watchmaker could not fix it,,,,so it will be shipped to a watchmaker in North Carolina next week. He has a great reputation & have spoke with him a few times. I'll let you know how it goes. If interested, I'll send you his website.
