You know you could have saved everyone time and just asked what watches do like except "ROLEX" or maybe tell us everyone what watches do you hate and then all the Rolex haters can come out of the wood work and say "ROLEX". Way to go beat that dead Rolex horse to death.

Why do you want to incite this whole Rolex thing on this forum? No one has come out with any arguments for or against Rolex here. Rolex is the largest high end Swiss maker in the world and they sell just about everything they make and they make more watches than just about everyone else combined. They are doing fine.

You brought this whole thing up.

The policy here is no watch will be bashed. All are welcome.

Certainly if someone doesn't like any particular watch or company they can say so as long as they give specific reasons and make it clear it's their opinion. No different with a straight razor.

Go over to Timezone and you can read the Rolex Wars to your heart's content.

Tread carefully with this Rolex thing.

Childish! I guess is time to leave another forum before I get banned for saying what I am thinking. So much for gentlemanly behavior.

Funny you mention the word "childish". I don't read anything really childish? Nothing wrong with a good discussion from time to time.

Wow. I didn't know there was such a thing as a Rolex War going on! But then again you can take a random forum/hobby and there will always be controversy around some subject.

Timezone is the number one site for watches. Several years ago there was one of the founding members who is an extremely respected watch collector and amateur watchmaker and he decided to disassemble one of his watches. It was a Rolex and as I recall an Explorer. He took pictures at every stage and then commented on the poor finishing throughout the mvmt. His final comments were that Rolex knew where they needed to spend time finishing some parts expertly and where they didn't have to and he felt that was a travesty considering the prices charged.

Other than that he didn't really dis the watch. It was his and he liked it and it ran great.

He was besieged with incredibly hateful PMs for months on end after that and he was actually driven from the site never to return. It was a real loss for the site.

The Rolex issue is always coming up there and on other sites too.
