Of course, I'm single since divorce, BUT. Just tell the SWMBO you can save a bunch of money and make a home made rifle. If she say's ok, well, on the test fire, tell her to get into the centermost room of the house. then tell her, no problem, making them by myself is fun and it's a lot cheaper. If she loves you, you'll get a rifle. If not, you know how to make pipe bombs!

If you could get your hands on a pistol license then one of these doohickies would be about perfect for if your first shot didn't stop the pig.

Or one of these if you really want some options and the pistol license is too hard to get.

You're killing me with envy bharner. I love those double barrelled pistols. I've had a pistol licence in the past and I could get one again easily enough, but the reason I gave it up in the first place was the difficulty in meeting the range requirements when the police shutdown the local pistol club.
I've recently seen an advert for those revolving rifles being in stock at my local gunshop.
I reckon for backup I might just rig a back-scabbard for a DB Shotgun and make sure I can draw it fast enough before putting it to the test in the field.

I'll be honest, I was planning on buying an in-line muzzleloader this year to extend my hunting season but the longer this thread gets the more I want a flintlock. So I stopped by my local dealer and he can get me a .50 Lyman flint trade rifle for ~$350. Now time to see what I can dig up out of the basement to get rid of so I can have him order it for me.

Plus the kilt I ordered back in April finally came in so I'm really wanting to go stomp around the woods in a kilt with my throeing tomahawk on my belt and a flintlock in hand.

If it makes you feel any better, Mick, my kilt is a knock off utilikilt (I couldn't justify paying over $200 for a pleated skirt, no matter how cool it is). And my wife and daughter refer to it as a skirt.

That don't make me feel better a'tall. I want a Utilikilt...The Workmans or even better, the Survival Utilikilt. So no mate, I don't feel any better now...
I reckon either one of those would go well with a Hawkins, Jaeger or Kentucky rifle. They even have a photo of a bloke with a Martini-Metford rifle on the Utilikilt site. Kilts and Blackpowder seem to go hand in hand in some way.

Even though they be expensive, spend the money, get a proper kilt and wear that sucker till it's worn and tattered and then keep on wearin it. I like kilts as dress attire..no argument that it's awesome as dresswear. But......I like the idea of wearin one for just wearin sake also. Back in the day Ol Robbie Roy wore his as everyday garb....just cause the English banned it then lifted the ban doesn't mean the poor Kilt should be antiquated. Wear it and wear it with pride...and beat the livin snot out of anyone who laughs atcha for it. I've gotten great compliments on mine and I've gotten some pretty ignorant knuckle draggin comments as well. Now that it's gettin colder I may get mine out. Kilts rock Mick and they gottem for all commonwealth regions and anything remotely UK related. Includin Wales and Australia....but you knew that anyway. Cheers !
