Looks like a great gun! Nothin' like the smell of black powder in the morning. Does PA have a minimum caliber requirement for blackpowder deer?

Any chance you might be willing to part with some of that? Not for rifle stocks, but for brush and bowl sets. Let me know. The curious grained stuff would be perfect.

Came with possibles bag, 290 RBs, 5 flints, FFFFg 1lb can, lubed patches, and all the other stuff that comes with it. Both our guns are .50 cal. as well. I made some dippers for his gun and they work for mine as well. Would like to get a flintlock lock for mine and convert that beast. I have a Lyman .490 single cavity mold for it. They shoot good. We need to see some pics of that rifle young man!
Dixie Gunworks is offering a conversion lock that is supposed to fit the CVA. It's an L&R, and pricey like just about everything at Dixie. Track of the Wolf is also reputed to have one. I don't have the $$ right now, but will be looking at converting my .54 CVA to flint when I do.

i belive its 45 caliber but dont quote me to that we have a muzzloder season in october (inlines included) and a flint lock only season the day after xmas for 1 month. if i dont get any horns in rifle season than i can use that tag for buck or doe in after xmas season.

Got a .60 Tulle fusil d'chasse built from Pecatonica River Long Rifle Supply parts set. Very nice. Still need some work on a proper load though. It's the one I'm holding in my pic.

WE GOT SAUSAGE !!!! Got a 4 point buck yesterday Nov 3 ,Opening Day. We didn't think it was going to be a good day because it was so windy !! But at 4 pm I
saw a flash of white and some movement in some thick brush to my left about 75 yards. I raised the 45 cal McCoy Flintlock to my shoulder and watched that buck as it kept getting closer into a clear shooting lane. Sitting on my hot seat at the base of a huge pine, this buck is now 20 yards in front of me. The flint is now scraping the frizzen and a shower of hot metal is igniting the 3fff powder in the pan and it's GAME OVER !!!!!!! Tenderloins TONIGHT !!!

Each WMU up here has diff. Rules. In the section we hunt,we can take ANY deer for our 10 day BP season. Then that same WMU changes it's rules for Rifle season on Nov 13. So you have to read the rule book !!!! Some sections are shot gun or BP only.We can take only a max.of 3 deer per season. One with an Archery tag,one with gun/black powder and a special Unit M tag. Our deer herd up here is est. at 80,000 and I understand the Pa. Herd is est.at 1.2 MILLION !!! So your have a 16 to 1 ratio on us !!!
