My boy got this one with his bow last Saturday in the morning and I got a nice doe in the evening. Nothing tastes better than fresh backstrap! The weather is no fun today so I am going to shoot indoors this afternoon. I still have this next weekend before firearm season.

Dibs on teriyaki and sweet and spicy venison jerky!
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Deer season is still a couple of weeks away, it will be me and my old k98 Mauser as usual. I won a new Ruger 10/22 takedown this year in a raffle, got a feeling I will be eating more squirrel this year.

Got a nice 8 pt buck last year.

I've got a K98, love it & my next gun just happens to be a 10/22 takedown, small world.

Let me know how you like that takedown please, before February, that's when I'm gonna get it.

.........alright get back on topic, Nun2sharp distracted me !

I'm heading out at 6am tomorrow morning.

I'm hunting white tail in one location, and black bear in another.

Rifle of choice for both is my Remington 700 SPS, 30-06 150g. Scope is a Leupold VXIII 3-9.

I'm not going to sleep tonight...I can feel it.

I onlty put in for antelope this year.. No luck though. The drought scattered the herds. I saw a couple about two clicks out, but couldn't get them closer.. If I could have danced them in another click I might have had a shot.. Oh well, a bad day hunting is better than a good day at work.. Thinking. About going pheasant hunting next month..
