    Cool Figures

Obviously Dan and I should have sat out on the front porch drinking beers instead of heading to the high country chasing Elk.. These two were followed by three more so far this morning... To top off the irony, as I turned to come back into the house, I catch a glimpse of a Whitetail as it stepped into the woods next to the shop. Then to really rub it in, I set the camera down to get a cup of coffee, and out the back window sit two fat Grouse in the back yard...

However staying married is more important then hunting LOL Love Ya Babe !!!!!

(ps: it is about a 50 yard shot from the front porch to the end of the driveway in that pic )

.........alright get back on topic, Nun2sharp distracted me !

Will do! Maybe I will do a proper review here in the forums. So everyone can have the info. I can tell you this much right now, I like the design and it seems to be built quite well, a great improvement over the old AR-7 type of rifle.

Every time Glen puts up pics of the wildlife roaming through his yard I tell myself that is the place I need to be. Watch it Glen, or you will end up with the neighborhood going to hell.

I would love to move there, but I hear the temperature drops below 60 degrees on occasion.

Got a nice 8 pt buck last year.
I have always wanted to try one of those k98's.. That is the german ww2 weapon right? I would like to dresss it up old school and see how good of a sniper weapon those really could be back in the day.

So I got my muzzleloader out today to figger out.
It turns out that with a 50 cal TC White Mtn Carbine 85grains of Goex FFg behind a 350 grain TC MaxiHunter = 2.5ish" 5 shot group at 100 yards.
I only have a pic of the first shot with that load because as I was loading up my 5th shot a bunch of yahoos stopped by the range and I didn't want to get shot checking my target. But through the binocs all the shots were pretty close.

I have a few Mossin Nagants, the go to rifle for the Soviets for decades. LONG rifle, the iron sights ramp up to 2k meters, a bit much me thinks. But, if I had my twenty five year old eyes now, I would be very confident out to five hundred, with open sights, no problem. I as well, would love to get a hold of a K98, it was the Grandfather of many bolt action rifles to this day.
