    Default The Shave Den

    HI Guys,

I don't know if you are receiving emails like this one, but I think this is ridiculous. If the Shave Den needs members or participation, then they should earn it like the rest of the forums. I have some very good and long time friends in the other forums, but I find this type of communication very distastefu!!

This is the second email like this that I have received from these people

    Lynn

I think that's an automatic reminder, but it does give you a certain impression of desperation... "Oh no! This user hasn't logged in since so-and-so. Better ask them what's wrong! Don't they love us anymore?"

    Just my 2 cents.

I agree, Lynn......I certainly don't need people to remind me where I haven't been! I mean, if I don't not want to skip returning, why shouldn't I just not do when I think of it!

-just my thoughts on the matter!

(...funny....I didn't get one of those invites!...)

    -whatever

    Lynn,

I am one of the moderators of TSD. My apologies for any inconveince. This is just an automatic feature of our site and it is in no way intended to harass anyone. To stop receiving automated admin messages from the site go to your user cp in our site and click off that feature. Again, my apologies.

I have a great idea! Just remember that your dealing with men old enough to shave which implies that they're old enough to think for themselves and make their own decisions! Now, stop sending those messages out! They are annoying and slightly insulting! let them use their manly ability of decision making, to decide whether or not they want to be a part of your forum!
I must say that I hate this sort of thing, especially over the phone! I always remind them that I am over 21 and can think for myself thank you!!
This is not directed at you personally Scorpio, just the current mindset that allows people and businesses to be so rude and thoughtless!

Just turn off the "get email from admins" option and you're set. I don't really see how this is rude and thoughtless. Quite a lot of people visit a whole bunch of forums, and forgetting about places isn't uncommon.

I don't get many e-mail solicitations but I get plenty on the phone! Two things I find wrong with them: they come right into your house via phone or email! I don't like the privacy of my home invaded with these calls! I don't imagine the emails as annoying, but they are still an invasion! Secondly, as I have stated, I can think for myself! I don't need an email or phone call to tell me about this product or that gimmick or, for that matter, reminding me of a forum that I haven't visited! I would say that it is obvious that a forum is not that important to a member if he forgot about it or just didn't post for awhile!
The opt out option wouldn't even need to exist if these companies or what have you would consider their customer before considering their pushy practices!

I have always enjoyed seeing what's going on in other forums and participating in some of them as well. There is no reason I have to do anything to stop this kind of nonsense other than leaving the group which will be my decision based on the emails and this response. I feel sorry that you guys feel this kind of thing is necessary for your forum.

    Lynn
