Thanked: 37The only way to get a bad law changed is to challenge it. You can be the Rosa Parks of shaving. If you challenge the rules you have to be completely in the moral high ground so you can't be messing around with your razor.
If it were me I would shave away but not be in their faces about it. You are in college, you have a duty to protest The Man.

+1 for the "just bring it" vote.
They're going to have more important things to worry about than what you use to shave. As long as you keep it to yourself and don't go on any massacres, you should be fine. If for some ridiculous reason they do find out and have a problem with it, the worst thing that can happen is they'll confiscate it. With that in mind, just bring a replaceable one.

i dont think i would challenge the rule as bruno said it may lead to an outright ban on str8's and i doubt you will be able to get enough signitures on it to do any good take your razor keep it quiet and enjoy your shaves

For those saying I shouldn't have even asked, yeah your probably right but that's not helpful because it's already done. I did it because my mom mentioned I should see what they say in case I couldn't have one, so I did, whatever. Stop saying I shouldn't have even asked because that doesn't help me anymore.
And we have floor-bathrooms, not private.
Thanks for the idea RalphS., I haven't thought about that, and I don't know how their appeal structure works either yet, but I'll keep that in mind.

Interesting: reading the university policy, it clearly states that ignorance is your best defence. I really like how a UNIVERSITY is teaching its students that being ignorant is better than being educated. Anyone else still wonder why the educational system is in trouble.

I think as long as you're not walking around with the blade in your pocket (which could be interpreted as a weapon) you're fine. It's obvious if they check it out that you're using it for shaving purposes because you have all the equipment to "back it up". As mentioned, the size of the blade is under regulations and the automatic opening isn't an issue. I think you're fine.
Although, I'm one who brought my longbow to college and was shooting it outside my townhouse last year...... but I didn't get in trouble .

Dear oh dear. The naivity of youth eh.. why on earth did you ask them to begin with.............. ????
I'm currently at Uni with around 10 straights.. I for sure will never ask if I'm allowed to have them here.
