I like to sit in my recliner or my chair out on my porch and smoke a pipe.

I too was a road racer...still have some lovely aged sew-ups; nailed-on cleated shoes and leather hairnet helmet!!

I climbed when in wool knickers before modern polypro clothing was available...

I have a small collection of mechanical watches...

If you live long enough you will have old time hobbies!

    Best to all

Glad to hear I am not the only complete anachronism on this board! Do you and DwarvenChef knap your own flints and cut patches from pillow ticking too? A small straight razor would make a GREAT patch knife IMOH! I love the smell of burning sulfur and making plumes of white smoke....

I've got the info on flint knapping and have given it a try with mix'd results. When I do get to finishing my .36 I'll spend the time to do it right

I guess that was my first straight razor it's stuffed into a deer horn handle even

Yep, I have one of those deer horn handled patch knives too, in my "possibles bag". Right next to my flint and steel, powder flask, patches, "Moose Milk", etc. Now, have you ever thrown your "hawk and succeeded in sticking it in the tree?

I have taken up old rigging and rope work as a hobby and as a necessity because of my yacht.

Freshwater fishing (not an excuse to drink...actually, no drinking going on)...I practice catch and release to help conservation efforts and help the fishing get better as the years go on.

I also love working out with Russian kettlebells. Nothing but me and a cast iron cannonball with a cast iron suitcase-style handle - now that's "old time".

I shoot clay pigeons. And I do it with an oldschool side by side with double triggers! And I like to stick some black powder through it as well, that boom that carries 4 counties and the huge cloud of smoke make the cleaning worth while..!
