Hi Mike. I Love the "Madame Churley" lol.....the mad scientist in her lab. Really glad to hear that you and your brother liked the samples AND the Aftershave that means we're on the right track. Speaking of the shop......we're done! and then Alan decided that we need to remodel the old part of the basement where the shop used to be, we tore everything out......and then he got called back to work but we cobbled things back together enough to make a functional shipping dept aka "Plywood Table"

Oh yeah! You're ready!
Do you have a scientists labcoat? Gonna need one... just wouldn't be right otherwise.
I'm gonna want a large bottle of that aftershave, my son is now using it to smell like a big boy!“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

That's so sweet! How old is your little man ?
Yep, close enough that the website is supposed to be finished by the end of next week, "do or die". I'm being locked in a room and can only come out to use the bathroom, lol.
Also gearing up for our new product line with shaving cream and a very special Aftershave for Gents who have problem skin like dry, itchy skin, razor burn, fine lines, acne. If you'd like to volunteer, please send me a PM.
Ya know......I should look for a lab coat

I am willing to be a guinea pig!.. As Long as I get to wear a fury costume and roll around in lather.
Otherwise I'll leave it to the pros.
My son is turning 9 next month, perhaps he may have his own bottle? If it's too soon for the aftershave, no problem, as I know you have been focusing on a great many tasks and have other products coming out first.“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

Dieseld,
Yes, we've come a long, looooong way since last October. Of course our biggest blessings came out of the construction dumpster lol, and the doctors office. I still can't get over sometimes !!!

Good Morning, Gentlemen
This past weekend was my Dad's 80th birthday, hardly seems possible! It was a great party! And perfect weather.
Alrighty then! it's time to get back on track here.
I have my tried and true formula for Shaving Cream, of which I found a small jar, when I was rifling thru boxes looking for things to sell to fund our next step. It was crazy, I was so surprised....after all these years, AND it still smells divine. I haven't had a chance yet to try it out, but will soon. But I can tell you that back in the day it was the "Creme de la Creme"
My particular thing with formulating Shaving Cream is that I use formulas from waaaaay back in the earlier part of the 1930's, and revamp them using some modern ingredients. Over the course of the weekend I had a formula that I've been studying for the better part of 3 months trying to figure out which ingredients I should substitute for what. ( just because I wanted to try something new ) The formula was interesting to me because some of the steps were different from that of making creamed soap, or what some folks call a dual process lye soap these days.
It requires a large kettle, like a water bath, so I needed to move it upstairs to my stove for stability in the cook stage. Melted my oils, melted a few of the other things in a separate container..........remembering to ALWAYS add lye to water......not.....the other way around. My liquid was approx 20 oz. I put in the Sodium Hydroxide and was like uhmmm....wow, that was impressive and such a small amount. Perhaps I need a larger container? So I ran downstairs and retrieved an 8 quart measuring glass and back up the stairs I went.
Now I admit, that right before I dumped the 16 + oz of Potassium Hydroxide into the container........I thought to myself, you know, you don't have the slightest idea what's going to happen next because of an ingredient that I had substituted. So I put on a long sleeve shirt, buttoned up to the neck and then thought, "ok, here goes nothing". I dumped it in and immediately took a long step backwards lol, and nothing happened other than it turned the color of milk. I thought to myself, ok.....so far, so good, and then I took a step forward to give it a stir.......... and in that nano second of time, it erupted........boiling, rolling a good 2 in above the top of the container..... and growling (yes that really happens) all over the counter, the cabinets the floor. I was like .......uhmm, oh this is bad, this is very bad. I tell ya true, my little heart was pounding cuz it seemed like it went on forever, and while it was perhaps only 15 seconds, it was the longest 15 seconds I've had in a while! I lost 10 of the 20 oz of fluid everywhere!!! omg, what a mess. Took an entire roll of paper towels, a wash rag and a solution of vinegar to clean it all up. But in the end it stripped the gloss right off of my counter top, and the stain on my first cabinet, and my floor is now 5 shades lighter.....lol. Holy smokes Batman!
