Got there late, had to leave slightly early, Ray would not let me leave without taking some ribs ... them were some GOOD ribs! You know when you grab them with tongs to plate them and the meat drops off the bone that it's going to be memorable. The wife even forgot I was gone all day when I brought those home. Thanks Ray!

I'll be there after some coffee and french toast. Yes, she's making me cook!

Just wanted to say thanks to Walleyman for hosting this nice event. Thanks to everyone that helped me out. Big thanks to Randy dance for showing me how to hone. I used it first thing this morning. Is there a list of vendors that would like feed back on their products? The black cherry soap made by Stirling was awesome.

I don't think anyone could have asked for more honing knowledge at one event. The meet up was way more than I expected, great food great company, and learned more than I hoped I would. Also thank you to everyone that sent samples and other items to be raffeled off.

Its 5:48 Central time now. Chris and I are headed south on Interstate 55. Going to cross the big Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau. Expect to arrive Asheville 4:15 a.m. Eastern Time. Want to thank all the guys who came but most of all want to thank ray for putting everything into this that he did for being the perfect host for helping us in every way he possibly could. Want to thank the other guys who were helping the new guys hone and thanks for all the things Chris and I learned, Can't wait till next year.

    Gentlemen (and ladies),

Let me add my thanks to everyone who was involved, attended or was an inspiration in spirit for such a great meeting. As straight neophyte, I am stunned at how much information and expertise was on display over the last two days. Thanks to Ray for hosting the event and having such a top notch plan for food, beverages, seating, tables and everything that went into producing the event. Thanks for the ribs, burgers, dogs, salads, donuts, coffee and all the supplies that went with it. Thanks to Sham for the amazing tortas and sauces. They were quite delicious. Thanks to Kevin, Mike, Chris, Randy, Ron, Dave, Scott and anyone I forgot for all the tips that were freely given to those of us that needed help. Thanks to the vendors and artisans that donated items for the raffle. Thanks to John for donating the Torrey that I won in the raffle. Special thanks to Victor for honing the Torrey for me so I have a great edge to which I can compare my humble efforts.

I truly had a great weekend meeting each and every person at the event. You are all gentlemen (and ladies) to admire. Friendly, welcoming, unselfish in nature. Just great examples for one to follow. I hope I can make it to another meet up at some point. This was an awesome weekend that I really appreciated.

Many thanks to all the organizers and donors. It was a great event.
I would like to especially thank Walleyeman for hosting and cooking some great ribs; bluesman7 for working on the chips; Modine for helping me out plus answering questions; and finally Warpiper for the giveaways.
I feel privileged to have met most of you and regret not meeting everyone.
