Well I got the rotors off Joyces truck. They're trash. Need it least 2.6 millimeter to turn them on the card I've got 1.71 so it's now off to buy a new rotors.
Could be worse considering she won't be here until 6 o'clock. I could be doing it without a flashlight.Last edited by hidestoart; 10-28-2014 at 06:23 PM.

Thanked: 2209Hey all, just a quick note for now.
I dropped off Ron at his home in Rochester, MN at about 10:30 last nite. I finally made it home at about 12 midnight.
The drive was uneventful, thankfully, and merely boring since i have traveled this route a few times now.
Ray, I really need to give you a big THANK YOU! for hosting this Razor Meet. You did an excellent job!
What really struck me was the large number of guys giving honing help to others. In all the razor meets I have attended over the years I have never seen so many helping others with honing. It was a sight to behold.
Because of this I was able to walk 2 new guys thru the complete honing process. It is unusual to have that amount of time to devote to one person. I did adopt the method of demonstrate then have the new guy sit down and do it himself at each stage of the honing process. This is the best method but it does take a lot of time.
I was pleased to see Dave, from Des Moines, come down and get his feet wet in the straight razor world. next year I will remember to bring my DE/SE gear and have him give me and others the benefit of his experience.
Victor was a treat to meet! He really knows how to play a harp and was kind enough to take some time and show me a few things. Next year I will be much better with the harp.
I will post more later.............Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

Shaved with Kevin's favourite Dovo last night, and that was the best shave I've gotten with that razor. Thanks for putting such a nice edge on such a pain of a razor.

Wow, finely able to get back on line and check in.
First, I want to thank Ray for hosting the meet up, putting in a lot of hours and hard work, and money into it. You are a gracious host and your ribs were out of this world. I also want to thank your wife for putting up with us and supporting us and allowing us to be there. It was fun working with her and making cheese cakes. I'd like to thank Kevin for putting up and listening to bagpipe music for the 13 hour drive out there and then for another 13 hours back. I don't know why, but for some reason he had a hard time hearing me by the time we got back to Ashville. I also want to thank Kevin, Mike, Randy, Ron, Sham (also some great food), and Vic for taking the time to teach me honing and improving my honing skills. The razors I worked on have given me some great shaves. I also want to thank all the vendors and members who donated door prizes and give a ways. There were some awesome items there and everyone got to leave with several of them. I'm loving the soaps and the razor I won.
What I learned and experienced out in KC was well worth the drive. I learned more about honing, had some very fine food, and met some pretty nice and amazing people. As others have mentioned, people were friendly, easy going, and sharing. To watch the experienced folks helping the newbies was very rewarding. I'm already looking forward to the next meet up.Chris

It was great meeting you too Randy. Thanks for trying out my Colorado stone. Between your assessment and Sham's, I may be giving up on that formation. I have a few others in mind to try here though.
I'm expecting to hear some harp the next time we meet. SPAH is in Denver in August.
