Like everyone else has said, thanks to everyone. And those were some truly great ribs! Just wanted to post a pic before I sign off the night: My first full shave with a newly honed razor....

I'm back home, and everything is unpacked. Had a great time. Thanks Chris, Kevin and Ray (and everyone else) for helping put this together. Thanks especially to Mike and Sham for helping me out with honing. It was great to meet everyone, and put a face to the avatar. Great food, great company, great learning, awesome experience. Can't wait to do this again!
Lots of individuals and vendors donated a ton of stuff that was raffled off. Here is what the table looked like at the beginning of the day!
Here's Chris (Warpiper) calling raffle numbers:
Here's a bunch of guys standing around waiting for their number to be called!
After several raffles, over both days, here is what I came home with

Here is Mike's (Modine) table with his straights and awesome rock collection. This is where I spent most of my time. Thanks Mike for helping me out.

Ray,
I didn't get a chance to say thank you for your hospitality yesterday. I'm new to this scene and everyone made me feel welcome.
I'd also like to give a shout out to Mike 'Modine' for honing my razor and walking me through the whole process. Thanks to all.
Brian

I got back to Denver at 11:00 PM Colorado time. Had a great weekend. It was well worth the drive. Thanks to everyone, but especially Ray. It was evident how much work he had put into this event. Has anyone got the final tally of how many people showed up?

Looks like a great meet! Funny how wherever the meet is, the group waiting on their name to be called all have the same blank looks on their faces!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

You might want to get that beverage before you sit down to read this, its a long one!!
Hello all, first off I hope that those who had traveled here have arrived safely to their homes. Those that are still on the road please be safe.
Please let us know that you are home!!
I really don't know where to start..... 4 days of run here run there, get this get that, message here and there, call here and there. Late turn in time and 4:30 am hitting the floor. Ribs on ribs off, Wow walked in to the shop this am and quiet as a church mouse. No talking, laughing, honing, or bagpipes..
It passed in a blink of an eye. Many friendships gained, many friendships renewed. Several younger gentlemen are joining the ranks with the honers. Awesome to see..
Kevin and Chris were the last to leave. I mentioned I would just lock up and head to house for a well deserved nap! Wellllll I didn't. I started to put things away, clean up bbq pans, trash etc. Don't get me wrong, several had helped to disassemble tents tables and chairs. Gather up trash and items. I was just gathering the bags of trash and hauling it off. Putting some equipment back in place and taking everything back to the house that I brought up for the meet. I know that I didn't bring this much stuff up. A good hot shower and a shave. Sat down and ate a little dinner. Opened the laptop .............................next thing I remember is my wife waking me up to go to bed. Never even looked at the screen!!
I would like to thank everyone who attended for coming and participating in our meet up. If you went home hungry that would be your fault. By the way Chris, we forgot to set the rest of the cheesecake out on Sunday!! I think everyone enjoyed themselves. It was obvious that there was a lot of commitment from the members. Some traveled a good distance to the meet, thank you! Some were somewhat close or even local, thank you too!
I would like to thank especially my wife Margie who was somewhat obscure from all of the activity, diligently working on food items and such at the house. Thanks Honey!!!!!!!!
Now if i miss someone it is not intentional, "please pm and I will edit post".
Thanks to Mike "Modine" for helping with food items and set up for dinner and lunch, also bringing your honing experience. Thanks to Kevin, "Hidestoart" for helping with set up and tear down and meet guidance, honing help as well. Chris, "Warpiper" first for your foggy entry with bagpipes blazing, set up and teardown as well, also for helping Margie and your awesome cheesecake too. Also Chris for getting together a awesome give away from so many venders!! Thanks for accompanying Margie to the store to give her a hand. It allowed me to keep going without stopping! Thanks to Randy and Ron, "Randydance" and "Utopian" for bringing your honing experience to the meet. Randy thank you also for all of the behind the scenes help with pm's and notifications and meet guidance as well. Thanks to Richard, "Geezer" and Mike, "Entropy" for your generous donations for the give away! Thank you also to all the venders for their generous giving.
Thanks to all the attendees for their help and offering to help also! Without all of above this would not have happened!!
I THANK YOU ALL!!! Now if I have missed someone or something please pm me and I will absolutely make an edit here!
So now your beverage is hot or you have fallen asleep. Thanks for looking and thanks for all of the kind words from all!!
Now with everything above I am entertaining the thought of, mini get togethers through the winter? Just a Sat or Sunday afternoon occasional meeting at the shop to possibly do some honing, scales etc. Weather permitting of coarse. I can try to plan around some work schedules too. Any interest????
Ray

Hey Ray I am just waiking up now and cant even see the screen on my phone. Chris and I made it to my place at 5:28 this morning.. I will get back to you when my brain is not swiss cheese. We are safe and avoided high speed awards from the local governments.
Chris is still sleeping, and God knows needs his beauty sleep.Last edited by hidestoart; 10-27-2014 at 02:27 PM.
