About the "new" guys. In a very positive way; they are the ones that ask the questions that get us scratching our heads and rethinking our methodology..
I don't think the Greek philosophers ever bent their brains around as many "why's."
Those causes to stop and think, re-think..."Why do we do it this way?" are usually from a newer person. "Why does this do this?" again causes a refreshing of memory.
For that reason and the fact that they were open to the new/ old ideas presented by a side-path on the shaving road of life, we are fortunate to have folks joining the wet shave program to help us rethink "common knowledge." That is what will improve our skills and enjoyment over the next years. Modern equipment is nice, but, the improved methods they make possible are wonderful. The "Newby's " are the ones tht get us to improve!

My thanks to all of you who came to our place. Bonnie and I had a good time and we hope you enjoyed yourselves and maybe learned a little about our hobby.
Special Notes:
This was my ninth meet to attend and it was the FIRST where everyone was cleanly shaved, at least on one day. That is a bit surprising considering this hobby is about shaving.
Bonnie and I want to personally thank Vic for playing his harp for our grandsons. They will remember.
Geezer has just entered the halls of "Greatest Guy Ever" with his contribution. Everyone who took some gear will place a Movember contribution. I am pretty sure you can name Geezer as the honored person.
Ron and Randy make these meets work by bringing their knowledge and gear. I don't think I have seen as many hones in one place other than Ron's shop. My thanks to you two friends.
Randy brought a semi-load of cheese. Most were my kind of cheese with Carolina Reaper, Habanero and other types of fire. They were extraordinarily good. Thanks, Randy.

We went through 5 gallons of coffee.
We had a raffle. I forget who won the cup but you left it in my garage. There will be payback.
]
Peter brought some of his razors. The Koraats are amazing.
The highlight of the razor porn was the Gold Dollar. Randy honed this blade using three different
arkies. You left it in the garage. What am I supposed to do with this masterpiece.

The hones
There were a lot of hones. Most were naturals. My thanks to Geezer for the coti and many thanks to Randy for helping on my finishing strokes.
I had to ask what Kosher meant. It means without blemish or flaws.
Vic works out on a Chosera

Ron's Scope
A rig like Ron's is about a must at a meet. Not only are the optics exceptional, everyone can see details and be told what they mean.
Thank you, Ron

Barber Hone
Ron brought an old Swaty and I fished a really rotten razor out of a bucket and off Ron went. He spent about 10 minutes setting the bevel and polishing the edge. I am still amazed at how fast a Barber Hone will cut.
To beat all, he shaved with the blade and shaved like a man. Lye soap, none of that wimpy French stuff.

Lye Soap: Tim
I bought this soap at a garage sale. Supposedly, it was made in the 60s by a lady who had made it her entire life.
Tim took the lead but showed foresight by trying it out on his arm before going to his face. The lather looked rather creamy and slightly yellow. While not a Martin de Candre, the Lye soap does seem to coat the skin.
Tim did not experience any razor or soap burn. I was a bit surprised. I thought the Lye Soap would be a major irritant.
Thanks to Tim and Ron for being brave.
With no apparent rash or irritation, Tim shaved his face!
There was a bit of a nick but it was caused by the strobe on the camera. Not Tim's fault.
