Thanked: 0Happy days...!
Hey Guys....
Fair play to those of you that are organising this and bringing it all together. I only use a Dovo disposable razor as I only started about 2 months ago but as fortune has it I was visiting my Father in Ireland last week and got talking about days of Old and he appeared with a Rusty old Razor. He made my day. I came back with it to the UK and the first thing I did was to order Bill Ellis's restoration CD and have spent most of today (I hope my Internet time is not logged in here) looking up advice of grinding, tapping, honing, stropping, pastes, x pattern and even took a visit to the pyramids... and then came across this thread... I will be trying to get out of a weekend away with the wife to attend the function. As someone said in a previous post I will be getting more than I can put back into it but I cant think of a better place to start.
I will defo be watching this space.

Thanked: 0I think.. its a Solingen... but thats only because I thought it said Colingen Germany on the side and started looking for a make and Solingen is what came up. Will ahve a closer look tonight.
It says Fanger 500 or Fange 500 on the shaft
It also has a picture of what I think is a man playing a trumpet on one of the scales with the word "Registered" underneath it.

Thanked: 84Don't forget to post a before and after picture!
If it's made in Solingen it should certainly be worth rescuing
Sorry for going off-topic everyone.

Buses on a Sunday usually run every 20 or 30 minuites instead of every 10. I would imagine it would be easier to get one coming from central Birmingham or you could always get the train from New street to International.
I suppose it depends on which is closer to you, the trains or buses. As I haven't been to Birmingham for quite some time you may be better off dropping Morturn a PM as he lives in the area.
Sir Sidney, glad to see you are booked. Can't wait to meet everyone.
