Great to see folks getting organised to come along. I have passed the main booking form for the hall to Steve from invisible edge - he is paying for the venue and is therefore our number one sponsor - thanks again Steve.
Re planes - I am going to put both razors and stones in the hold, well packed!
I will get around to getting back in touch with everyone who offered to do a wee bit on the day and from there we can make up a bit of a programme to give it some structure. I will also look into a place for something to eat after - perhaps do that in early Sept once folks know they are def coming.
There will prob be a chance to buy some items on the day through Steve at least - maybe even a Dovo rep etc...
Really looking forward to this event - we will give it a good push on the home page (Dave Wessel offered to set that up) maybe a little closer to the time once we have more of an outline prog.
cheers
Stephen

Thanked: 131Guys I have made a decision to try my hand at making my own scales. I have ordered a wapi blade from wojitec and expect to get it soon. As for the scales I plan to make it from some sort of wood. But here's the thing- I plan to make it out of some wood which means something to me. Perhaps an old toy, a piece of driftwood from a local beach... you get the idea. Something more than just buying the wood from a local merchant.
Why do I tell you all this? Here's the thing. I was thinking it might be an idea to make one for the first UK SRP meet up. If it is an idea which is REALLY popular i'll make a series that can be bought at the meet-up. I could number them all and include an SRP UK logo or something.
If there is little interest but I do make one then perhaps i'll give it away in a giveaway in September.
If there is interest from individuals who might want me to try it on their own materials to make scales then by all means contact me by PM.
I guess what i'm saying is... this is what I plan to do- anyone else want in on it?

Sandy if you can produce some decent scales I'll buy at least a couple pairs. I have a few bits of very unfinished business needing scaled! How's your woodwork?

Thanked: 131I have time, patience, attention to detail, care, confidence and above all a pride in getting the best workmanship result. If you can provide suitable scales material and even have your own blade you want re-scaled then PM me.

I'm hoping you have great success with your project Sandy .. I'd also be interested . I've pondered time and time again about making scales but I don't have the facilities or the space ( and more so these days ) time ....
Keep me posted on your progress
Cheers Garry
