Interesting take on language Steve - a purist approach. As an interpreter I like to use language that is widely recognised and therefore delivers its intended message. This site is 80% american and in this instance we are trying to involve the whole membership (raffle) rather than just the Brits ...
Language evolves and it would appear that you have perhaps gone over the cusp of old dogs and new tricks?
Other than that I constantly check and deliver my Masters assignments in proper English, when I come here I relax, now bug off my a55 with your pedantism
(oh and thanks again for organising the giftings and absolutely don't take retorts personally!)

Hey well done at least you have the cojones to tell me to eff off! I like that. Yes I do get a bit pedantic and am currently studying for my Meldrew award in curmudgeonliness (if that word indeed exists within the turbid range of grammar wot we speak).
Ther are still no such words as 'gifting' though, no matter which side of the pond you sit!!

HEY Makar! Is one familiar with the aphorism 'There's many a good tune played on an old fiddle'? I do tend to fiddle around a lot, you know.......
Anyway here is the pic of THE RAZOR -
I am assured it's a one-off and I do like those nice MOP inserts on the tang! I do believe it is a 'Prima Klang' blade and the scales are violetwood. Nice!

HUBBA HUBBA HUBBA!!!!
That is utterly gorgeous! If we were not coming to the Straightfete before, we would be now
Yes Steve I like. I like very very very much. But then again I had told you which of your blades I wanted next. I will be inconsolable if Silver or I do not win. Will just have to give in to the RAD

Thanked: 84Did you know - 'Gift' in Norwiegen means - poison !!
Gifting sounds like some technobabble bollocks to me!
But I'm a mere peon.

Who says I will share darling?
Though I propose we need a plan B incase we don't get it.
How about I give the winner a congratulatory hug, swipe the blade and stick it down my corset and leg it?
It is awesome Steve, well done!
Not sure if anyone has thought about where to donate the money to but there is always Birmingham Childrens Hospital - Welcome to The Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust or The Dog's Home - Home
Both are good causes I have dealt with over the years.

Yep - nice razor indeed. Well done Steve! Perhaps we should create a list of charities and put them in the hat too - pick out a couple on the day?
Keep fiddling Steve - it is a talent along with the gab you were gifted!
If anybody else has any giftings of a pogonomous nature for the UK meet they would be gladly accepted and put into the raffle for the day. If you wish to keep your donation a secret you could always just pm me with the details. It would be good to have a raffle prize list to open up to all SRP members sometime in August. Any other thoughts to charities also welcomed.
cheers
Stephen

Thanked: 131I'm working on making a razor to commemorate it. I'll post my work as it happens. But I say again- is this the first UK SRP meet up or has there been one before?
