Hi
Will confirm venue next week sometime - but as stated above it is Birmingham and it will be a community centre on the 20th Sept. Just need to make some time to phone around and confirm which community centre - could be one of 3 or 4 near the city centre.
Cheers

Sat 20th Sept, 1300-1700, Kings Heath Community Centre, Birmingham
Hi folks
Finally managed to get this to the final date/venue stage. Kings Heath Community Centre (google it for a location map etc) is about 10 mins drive from city centre and easily accessed by bus or cab (black cab from city centre is about £8, bus much cheaper of course) - I will provide details of transport a little later. I have provisionally booked the function room which is basic but provides us with chairs/tables/kettle/mugs etc. - takes up to around 45 people. We can bring in any lunch material we wish. To cover the cost, £77, I was thinking we should put in £5 each and then any more can go into SRP giveaway fund or similar. Any thoughts on that? I will pay the 25% deposit required for booking confirmation.
So - bottom line is book your transport to Birmingham and overnight accomm too as I will look into somewhere to eat for the evening and a few drinks! Should be a great social and a chance to learn from each other. More details of some of this stuff will follow but the venue and the date/timings are all here for your diary.
cheers

Just looked at transport and accommodation and booked up a cheap flight into east midlands and a room at Paragon Hotel - city centre. It was only £30 a night room only - the fleas will probably be free too! It looks OK actually.
Any Brummy folk who know a good place for a squad of folk for evening meal and starter drinks would be good. There may be opportunity to organise something for Sunday too - a further social for anyone who has come a distance like me. I fly out on Monday lunchtime so will be getting up to something.
cheers

IM A TRAIN DRIVER, I CAN BOOK ON AND OFF AT ANY TIME !! and often do.
I need to be "off" the day before and after to be sure to be able to attend things that aren't local.
