I get the feeling that Graham would prob enjoy meeting some ladies without droolin blade wielders hangin around. However I could offer a learning session in that area if desired - a kind of quid pro quo - share some of my time served experience
Come on Graham - I thought you couldn't make this no matter what. If you can come on the 27th (ooh er missus) then let's change it now. it would be good to have a definite hone session sorted. Now I've got to get on with my Masters or I will be shot!!

Looks like the date remains the same having had a quick talk with Graham Poona back channel. Commitment isn't easy when you are starting out on a new course and I can appreciate that - so pressure off! Just be there! (only jokin!) Be good to see you if you can - there is a fair bit of water to go under the bridge before September. From that perspective it's difficult to commit. A clear diary has a lways been a good thing for me so four months ahead is great. Who knows - I may even have to be somewhere else myslef by then but if I am then I lose out on the £50 booking fee for the hall which I promised to put up front. Don't think I can do anything more than that. I will leave this a couple of days here and then spread the message at the B&B site and try to pass on to all who noted interest here.
cheers

I'm in. Will probably stay with a friend in coventry and might well drag him along too, see if we can convert him.
I'll bring my stones and strop and look forward to getting some advice from more experienced honers, I seem to be making some progress with it at last.
See you all in september.

Thanked: 84I'll try to come.
I would show you students how to look after a lady fresher, but, Mrs littlesilverbladefromwales would not permit it
Do we bring our blades or just some cash?

Blades and cash. But we can only take the cash with us for the 'aftershow' I would imagine
I will confirm venue (ie which community centre) and times etc. in a few weeks (just got no time right now). Also will put the details into B&B, where a thread was started a wee while ago. Steve from invisible edge hopes to be there, as long as he can sort some things out. That would mean we would have at least one bona fide honemeister there, but lots of us trying. At the very least it will be a self help group and share experiences. Perhaps if Steve came he may be able to bring some of his shop products with him for sale but I don't know that yet. Otherwise I doubt there will be any vendors taking part. BUT it will be great to get a bunch of folk together and put faces to names and learn a bit from each other.
More firm details to follow - but the date 20th Sept 2008 needs to stick now I think, so diary it and phone a friend to stay over. I'm going to look out some cheap city accommodation for myself a little later.
cheers

That's grand Bjorn. I can back that up in 3/4 weeks time with full details of venue, times etc. both here and at the other sites you mention. I am a B&B member but not shave my face - I can always join and post or perhaps you can take it and post there when I confirm further details.
cheers
