Thanked: 131Thats a very big boot you got there Garry
Har har guys. No i'm too busy packing my bags for the guilt trip i'm being sent on.
Seriously there are good reasons why I could justify it:
1. My wife is going to Iceland this year with a load of other geography teachers. I'm not going on holiday anywhere this year.
2. Despite being geographically closest to Garry, I am yet to meet him.
3. The dates are miles away yet in September. Hopefully i'll have a job long before then!
4. I wanna see all you guys again!
There are too many bigger reasons why I shouldnt/cant go.
1. I have no job atm. Therefore no money.
2. Travelling will be a problem. I have no car and cannot drive.
3. I cannot guarantee having a job by that time.
4. Even if I could, I couldnt guarantee time off in a fictional job. Yet.
I may go. I would really like to go. But I cant commit at the moment when I dont know how the next bill is gonna be paid.
I will keep you posted as to what happens re: job hunting.

Well the first 2 items of how you shouldn't go are easily rectifed .. I can nip up to the fery terminal en route ..
The job situation however is out of my hands - I myself don't know where I stand from week to week with my job ..
ps. my new car has a pretty big boot and the back seats fold down for extra leg room in there

Thanked: 131Thought i'd give those interested a quick update. I had some literacy/numeracy tests for a job working with the DWP in the local job centre. The tests were last Sunday. I passed them both and have an interview this Sunday coming.
Wish me luck guys. If I manage to pull this off I may actually see you in September....

Good luck Uncle Sandy! Here's hoping you get the job, but only if you get the holiday so we see you in September. Remember if you are visiting the Outlaws in the Valleys this year to let us know, would be great to meet Cath this time too.
Is it too soon to be doing the countdown yet??

I really hope those eejits see sense and employee you Sandy ..
Pension wise I'm totally screwed , took out a private one when I was 20 thinking it was the right thing to do , then the company basically shafted me .. now I'm left with nothing -- I'll have to work until I die basically
I really rally hope it goes your way ..
we'll be seeing you at Razorcon09 anyhooz
