Don't try and get out of Razorcon cos of babies! Absolutely no excuse. I have one due in the next three weeks or so. I left it inside my wife for the past 8 months or so but it's pretty much cooked now and she's getting ready to bring it out to chill. My new self employment means I have been knockin my pan in for the last wee bit to ensure a good couple of weeks paternity - hopefully I'll be swaddling and changing nappies in early June all going to plan. However come Autumn I will be up in Kintail!
C'mon Sandy - be there or be left out somewhere dull and stinky...

Just had a quick look through all this - interested to know why, despite having bombed in the poll, the meet is in Scotland? Do you KNOW where Kintail is? I do - drove past it on the way to Somewhere Else and missed it! Sorry but my dormitory days are long gone! Have fun though, I will see what goodies I can get for ya!(especially when the fog rolls in..................)

Since when were babies an excuse to stay at home? I would have thought that a screaming bairn (or huffing and puffing SWMBO) would see you taking the opportunity of a weekend away with both hands!
We'll see you there Sandy. Or else.
Steve -- I'm not sure how Scotland won through in the end either. Clearly the Scottish/Welsh mafia are controlling the SRP UK Razorcon. Having said that, I'm quite looking forward to venturing up north. Up to now the furthest north I've been is Prestwick!

A poll to decide where doesn't really cut mustard. It's more about the organisation and who is willing to put that effort in - Spike's the man for this one, and a fine job so far too. Travel is a doddle these days. Luton to Inverness, £50 return in less than an hour. Kintail bunkhouse, to ourselves, is hardly dormitory hardship I should add. The middle of peace and quiet and modern facilities. I agree about switching it around - next year sunny Wales or maybe England - again... how about Ireland? Who wants to organise 2010? Or shall we all go to Italy Chimensch? I'm glad it's coming to Scotland this year and up to Kintail - for those who have never ventured forth from darkest south, come and see what traffic jams mean to me...

Thanked: 271Actually, I think that, next year, we should all go to Berlin and meet up with our European friends.

Thanked: 131If things continue in the line they have then next year will be organized by Englishmen and women and will be based in Wales.
The first was in England organized by a Scot
The second is in Scotland organized by a Welsh couple
Therefore 2010 would be in Wales, organized by an Englishman.
Personally I would welcome as much variety of location as possible. And as for travelling distance, I think Chimensch has proven how rewarding it can be, no?

Let me start with the Poll Steve. We had miss-voters, people who changed their mind afterwards and wanted Scotland instead. And as with any poll we had people not connected to the UK event voting anyway. Kintail was chosen as several members indicated they would also be interested in outdoor activities, a mountain hike, a shave under the waterfall, a trip to a local distillery and so on.
I contacted Tink a few months ago to close the poll, but he is currently off line and unable to do so.
Sandy, there are still 14 places left to fill and the final bill has to be paid in by July at the latest. We are very aware that we will cop the shortfall unless we can fill the other places.
Back to you Steve, we would love to do another raffle like last year so anything you can get for us would be awesome, thank you so much for offering.
