I'll commit just now with the pennies but should circumstances change later in the year I'm sure someone could take our place seeing as I'll have paid . Can't be fairer than that

Ye Gods! I turn my back for an hour & come back to find the plotting has advanced by a week.
Garry, if you can not make it, I am sure that there will be enough takers to reimburse your outlay.
We would all be hugely disappointed if you could not make it to the Meet on your home turf.
Makar, all I will say is that people who do not like macaroni cheese, pasta or indeed cheese have raved about my maccie cheese. It is more like a penne al formaggio than Mr Heinz' tinned efforts. (although I will probably bring a tin or two for rations for the hike) Failing that, how about tagliatelle carbonara, again from scratch? That can be done veggie too!
Nerobot, at the moment, we are descending from all corners of these isles & beyond. If you do not want to drive from Glasgow, the train might be an option & you could be met from Inverness station. Come on, let us not be finding reasons not to come this early!
Other than that, I have had some more ideas. I am not even going to start thinking about the weekend's schedule yet. Until at least we have some idea of who wants to do what & who is coming. What I was wondering was if we are having a raffle this year, for whose benefit will it be? Prizes we will worry about much later. It also occurred to me that if a few of us are hiking off to Glomach, why do we not see if we can get sponsored for it? A decent hike for a decent cause.
Finally, the really nasty question...
Who else will be wearing a Kilt? I may invest in a new one in honour of my trip to its spiritual home.

Hmmm don't know about spiritual home and so on re the kilt - check out Walter Scott and George 4th for that bit of marketing.
However, that said, I do like my kilt and it certainly adds to a patriotic feel. If you think I won't upstage you Spike I may well wear the little dress number found on this page http://straightrazorpalace.com/conve...k-like-12.html
Sponsored shave at the foot of the falls is a fine idea. Worked correctly it may well get a good bit of fun publicity. How about Scottish Mountain Rescue teams as a charity? Or perhaps a Gaelic project - just like we keep something old and cultural alive, Gaelic is the cultural thread that binds much of the highland heritage together. Just some thoughts.
Your pasta sounds alright BTW...I might eat it.
Oh - I'll do haggis, neeps and tatties one night then to match the Scottish thing and I can address the haggis (see Rabbie Burns etc.). Good excuse for rude Burns poetry, a wee whistle tune or two and a flaggon of whisky.
cheers
Stephen

Haggis, Neeps, Tatties, Rabbie & far too much malt?
We are not worthy!!
I am definitely up for some of that. Of course, I will have to recite some Thomas to maintain the cultural parity.....
