Thanks for all of your input, I have made a choice and I also have a new favorite stone, this thing is as smooth as butter and a fast cutter.
A great 2K choice. Nubatama Ume Blue Speckled 2K

Hi Dave,
I'm with Birnando on this one. Personally, I'd go with the 3/8K Naniwa superstone combo. Pick up a Nagura slurry stone and your can "stretch" the capabilities of your stones even further.
Whatever you end up with, spend lots of time having fun!
::::Ignore. I didn't read till the end

I certainly would not turn one down, but I think you may wanna keep your eye out for a brother in need. I can just imagine how ecstatic a newer fella SRPer would be.
Ahh... Got it. Couple months ago, a elder SRP head posted a hone giveaway contest.... Newbies? Food for thought.
ps-what was it that you did not like about the 3/8K combo?

Giveaways etc have to go through the mods for approval first, sorry that's just the forum policy, i know a member was disappointed recently when he tried to give away a hone and the comp got pulled. you could put that 3/8 in the classifieds though I am sure someone would take it off your hands.

Momentary lapse of reason, I suspect. I will try to retain those to the Off topic Anonymous thread
