Glen, that's a very nice collection of hones. Congratulations .
BTW I don't think you have HAD. If you had HAD then you would have doubles of some stuff, but I don't see many doubles. One thuri, one j-nat, one swaty. See? No doubles. And considering that you are a pro at this, makes it even more practical IMO.

Correct, I meant Barber`s hone ( I was positively shocked by amount of hones you have so I made mistake) and yes I think I saw SWATY on the table and I want to just ask if I was Barbers hone. Now-is there any difference between long SWATY and short 5 1/4 inch small hone? I have one small and I think it is great Barber`s hone.

Thanked: 13245The Long I have is pretty standard, and I have seen a couple of the Longs marked differently so possibly there are differences but if there is, they are very very minute.. There are a few different stamps on the Swaty's and many people believe some are a finer grit or perhaps they were buffed to a finer finish when they left the factory..

So those are the hones you need to hone all those wedges.

Thanked: 1587That looks like an excellent and comprehensive collection of hones Glen - something there to deal with anything that might arise. I doubt even the most recalcitrant razor could escape with a poor edge when faced with that arsenal

Well into the morning and I am wondering how Mark and Glen are doing. I am a little worried that Mark may have passed out from excitement, much like a kid in a candy store, he was so excited this morning.
Have a great day you two, we all want a report on how the day went. I am a little concerned at the stone purchase(s) that Mark will undoubtedly place when he gets home.
Happy Honing!
Sarah
