My first solo bevel set to 12k and CrOx pasted strop. Shave test was okay, but could be improved.

You might try leather only after the 12000, instead of co/ox.

Finally got my Morley Clover touched up on the Welsh slate set from AJ. Heavy slurry on the Dragon's Tongue to ensure bevel set, diluted to pure water, light slurry on the LM then some pure water laps, and finally a set of pure water and shave lather on the Black slate. Here she is on top of her finisher:

It's been so long I forgot how good a blade honed on these feels. Very forgiving edge that wanted to cut hair, and not skin but sharp enough that a 1 pass shave with minor water only touch ups here and there gave me one of the closest and most comfortable shaves of my life. 2 years in and I might finally be getting the hang of this stuff!

I use mineral oil. Which I purchase as baby oil (Scented mineral oil) at the dollar store for a whopping $1.25. Works well I use it with all my oil stones.

Only way I was able to coax an edge out of my Coticule was a mixture of mineral oil and mineral spirits. Pure mineral oil was too thick/viscous, so I had to cut it with spirits to thin it out a tad.
