O , I think I,m seeing it, was looking at it backwards then. Not my first time that's why I asked, retirement has me wondering if I was right all along when I was the boss! Oh My 20K arrived with a Brand New 1200 Atoma. Pictures prove how long it took too lap.
So I took 1200 to PHIG, It still scratched it up. Crate picture
But it kicked the 20K down lapped with no scratches.Your only as good as your last hone job.

Oh and Henkels meets pink coticule.

Yesterday I give this Wacker and Henckels a nice edge update.
Welsh slate with oil.( about 16.000 grit)
And then about 100 Times leather.
Again freaking sharp.

Bouchet, Bellay (France) 6/8 near wedge: Naniwa Chosera 1k, Norton 4k, Norton 8k, Livi CroX and leather loom strop.
My 'go-to' synthetics are Shapton GS 1-16k, with the Nortons neglected for years.
Today I pulled them out - I'd forgotten how good they are, great edge!

Today I refined the factory bevel of these 2 Grelots; the 357, 1/2 hollow, 5/8 and the 791, full hollow, 5/8, on Naniwa Specialty Stones, 5, 8 and 12 K, followed by the J-Nat and about 100 x leather.
