Joseph Rogers & Sons wedge on a La Verte coticule to a Charnley Forest. Forgot how good they shave with this combo.

Did you buy this coticule "new", or did you get it "vintage" on ebay for example ?

Well, the company has been running its business for almost a century, I guess they may possibly have changed the package of their product during this time ?

It has very peculiar marks ! I would have guessed a "Sud-ouest" hone and not a coticule.

    Beautiful hone !

it is a natural combo la verte with manganese spots. Gives very nice edge, but I like the combo of a charnley forest after sometimes.

I missed a nice Sunday shave, because I failed to set the bevel on this blade yesterday and then spent the entire day travelling across Europe today. I sure managed to pack a travel set!

My Sunday evening honing was nearly ruined, when one of the nagura decided to spit out a grain of sand into the slurry, but luckily I caught it before it did any damage.

All tests checked out OK, shave in the morning.

    The gear:

    - Greaves wedge 6/8"
    - Nakayama Asagi Kan koppa
    - Asano naguras, Botan/Tenjyou/Mejiro
As the time passes, so we learn.
