Reckon I shall stick with it as well. It does not ask for much!

Getting an early task done so as to enjoy the long weekend.
An F Herder on to the 12k Naniwa and some BG Escher to finish.

    Have a good weekend, everyone!
My old Norton 4/8 is still the foundation of my set-up. If all I had were that, my Chosera 1k green brick, and my DMT 325, there is really nothing else I need-everything beyond it is just icing on the cake (for me-some guys must have tough beards, and claim that they can't get a good, smooth shave off an 8k-ymmv).

An old tapered-blade Wade and Butcher. Has some 'letter-opener' history.
Wavy edge has been breadboarded somewhat. I will start with 2 layers on the green hone.

    We shall see?

Working-out! It's strange to see glitter on the top of the bevel!
The edge was really tweaked at one spot.
I did lots of circles and took it to a CroOx balsa strop a bit and evened things up, killed the edge and brought it back with one layer. This is one which had been reground long-ago and not used much.

Someone had cut something they should not have.
    I dislike razor abuse!

Nice, even and tiny bevel....Every picture I take makes it look bigger than it is, though!
Moving-on! To my 1k Naniwa which is my 2k hone!

Oh well....It's slow here, so after some 4/8 Norton and Naniwa 12k, the last HOD is blue-green Escher.
A hundred laps! Lotsa water.. Began with light slurry.
10 laps on CroOx and 10 on FeOx and 100 laps on a leaden strop.
This thing hones and strops so easily. I got it TIGHT!
    Gotta be a home-run!
It will go home and get a pile of Neil Miller bridle before the shave!

Brought out the Welsh purple hone of questionable grit.
Lapped up to 2000 grit w/d, some Smiths Honing Solution and 30ish feather light strokes and your good to go. More crisp than smooth I find it works nicely with full hollow solingens.
For a cheap no thrills natural I like it a lot.

Got my first Williams razor. Tweaked the edge a bit to get it to my liking. Finishing it kept giving me some issues, would get really sharp but the comfort wasn't there. Tried this kiita nashiji that's hard, fast and fine. Finished on light slurry with strokes parallel to the edge, like the Nike symbol. Perfect. Very sharp and comfortable.
