Last night I was testing a hone that I was gifted by christian1. It's a Lynn ideal mounted to a piece of wood. It's approximately 6"X1". The razor is a craftsman 9207. I did a progression of 1000/4000/8000 norton and an approximately a 12000 c-nat then used the Lynn ideal hone with shave lather. I first started with water but it wasn't refining the edge any better than the c-nat. But with the lather it was slicker and was giving a lot better edge. The bevel is smaller in the middle on one side and larger on the other, due to a slight warp to the blade, but I didn't want to remove any more steel since it wasn't getting any better.
