Nah, not really. If you've ever watched the TV show "NCIS" NCIS Agent Leroy Jethro Gibs carries the same knife but in a variant with one of the scales being green. Some people therfore call them Gibs knifes.

    Aloha!

I have lost so many pocket knives over the years via forgetting I had them when going through TSA checkpoints at airports I no longer carry them. Sad but true. I'm sure many of my former knives are now in the pockets of TSA agents from Honolulu to New York City. I always seem to need one and don't have one handy so I'll have to start carrying a simple folding knife again.

Speaking of NY, I was recently reading about the asinine law (no other word for it really) in NYC that allows police to search for pocket knives, and if they find you carrying one and they can open it with one hand by flicking it (letting gravity do the work), you are arrested and fined for carrying an illegal weapon. I guess the whole thing came to a head when an electrician who was carrying his work knife to strip wire on the job was arrested. Not sure if the law has changed but I know they were working on ammending it.

Anyway, I have a nice little folding blade knife I really should start carying. 2 1/2 inch blade so perfect for cutting open boxes and such. I'll just steer clear of carrying it in NYC until I know that law is ammended.

You MIGHT have swayed me away from a modern like the Benchmade BACK to a vintage PUMA again. I carried a PUMA Senior for years. You make a great case for a classic EDC.[/QUOTE]
