Thanked: 234Awesome. I've ended up with one or two more since my last post. Got a CS pocket bushman, and a couple of folders from SanRenMu - a chinese company who are using the same steel (8cr13mov) that is found on a couple of spydercos. I spent a whopping $25 on two knives, posted, and they are excellent. I got the 710 and 962 models. And have a couple more on the way now!
I also have a custom blade blank on the way. Which I will scale up and sheath my self.
Here's my SRM 710 with an Orange G10 scale that I made this afternoon:

Thanked: 0I'll confess...
I carry a MINIMUM of my Wenger Executive Pocket knife. Most of the time I'll carry either my SOG Flash II If I am so inclined, I'll carry my Boker Kalashnikov AK-74 "tactical" auto. (Both the blade and handle are black). Both of the larger knives have AUS-8 blades, and are handy as can be when called upon.

Thanked: 0Last wednesday I ordered a Colonial 550 (with a black blade).
I ordered the knife from the One Stop Knife Shop in Kentucky. This little auto should serve me well while keeping a low profile. These aren't collector grade or pretty "see what I have" knives. These are no-frills "working" knives that function well and hold a decent edge, while not cutting heavily into the budget. 1sks sells them for the paltry sum of $45.00 + 12.00 UPS shipping charges.I like the black blade, because it doesn't draw attention to itself, but conveniently clips itself to your front pants pocket so that it will be handy for heavier work than a simple gentleman's pocket knife. The only knife that is better than the little Colonial is the Boker Kalashnikov AK-74 with an AUS-8 blade made in Taiwan! While the Boker may be less expensive, it still looks like more than a pocket knife. The Colonial 550 can be had with a black blade and simply looks less combat-oriented than the Boker. It looks as if it is a large pocket knife with a firing button and a slide-lock to prevent accidental firing and closing. Best of all it has a Lifetime Warranty and is made entirely in the U.S. of A.! Surely there's something to be said for that)! You can't beat that with a stick!

Thoughts: D2 is excellent steel (I have a slipjoint in D2 and I love it)
Snody's designs are pretty cool.
I hear the sheaths that come with this knife aren't all that great. But other than that it's a nice knife.

Thanked: 11Thanks
The blade is also very thick for its size, 0.14" (3.4mm) thick, so it will be a good work horse
Yeah i have heard the sheath is the horrid lol. I plan to make one out of Kydex, which should be fun . There is an older version of this knife, 210TK and the sheath it comes with is a kydex one, so i plan to use a similar design. You can pick up a 12" x 12" sheet of kydex for like 8USD
