Whaha I do that also.. last time when I get eat spare ribes I get a dull knive and they have no sharp one. I offer to sharping al of they knives and Let them see how easy spare ribes are to eat with a sharp knive. I used my own pocket knive and they mouth stand open for some time.
They have Let them knives sharpened after that. (Not by me but by professionals )

That looks to be about a 3 inch blade, no problem in Arizona. Mine is about a 3.5 inch blade. If you get stopped out here, just tell them you have a knife before they ask you. If it's hidden, like in your boot that's a big No-No!
