Here are two of my non folding knives that I have with me here in Bangkok. I have others in storage back in Australia that will eventually make their way over here. I call then non folding knives instead of combat knives because I would like to think that they would never have to be used for that purpose. I like them for their aesthetic beauty.Name: SAM_0448.jpg

No offence intended-but than why would you list them on a thread called COMBAT KNIVES ?

Just saying they are combat knives, but I would never use them as such. To me, they are things of beauty. Having said that, it still may not be a good idea for anyone with ill-intent to come into my house while I am at home.

    Bruno,
Absolutly no offence on my part here but having lived here my whole life Ive learned two things -Dont believe the F.B.I-blindly,and secondly and more importantly, never use a knife in a gun fight. IMHO

Basil how do you like the short synthetic Ka Bar? I've been thinking of buying one and trying to rig up some sort of ankle holster for it.

i actually like it alot. The knife is a handy size but alot bigger than what i thought it was gonna be.

I bought it with the non leather sheath so i could specifically use it while diving/snorkeling. I rigged up some para cord on the sheath and just tie it to my leg and i haven't had any problems of it coming loose yet.

Ill try to take a pic in a bit and show my set up.

ok i couldnt help it, i ended up picking up a fallkniven f1 today.

Its a sweet knife but just trying to read up on convex grind sharpening.

I think croox on the back of one of my strops would do the trick no?

convex grinds for me are very difficult and complex. very easy to mess up. If you do the CrOx I would do it on felt and have a "smidge" of slack in it as held loosely. Not sure if this helps but great blade!
Most of my convex grinds end up being flat...
