    Excellent Razorfeld, simply excellent!

You don't have any worries about potential rust? Do you just thoroughly dry your razors and put them away?

I'd like to do something like you've done, it's inspiring, but am worried about any humidity issues etc...I've got a window in my bathroom, and when it's cold like now, and humidity gets sucked out the window pretty quick.

Either way, I really like it, as I said, it's inspiring!

Phrank, I have just normal humidity in the bathroom because if I close the door while showering, etc., my half Siamese cat (the looks and the voice came through) Minnie Mouth (not a misspelling) creates enough din to wake the neighborhood because she can't get through the door. After I rinse the blade part off and dry it I dip it in a small jar of rubbing alcohol and mineral oil (a suggestion from a SRP member and I can't remember his name), massage a little of the oil around the pivot area, lightly wipe excess from blade and put back in the rack.

Thanks Razorfeld - I wonder if dipping the blade in Barbicide would do the same thing? It's got the disinfectant aspect, and also the rust inhibitor? I've got this nice barbers Barbicide jar and a jog of Barbicide, wonder if I can finally get some use out of it?

    Time for some research....

Don't see why not since barbers have used it for years. But I'd check to see how long it needs to be in the solution. As I recall you need to leave the razor, or comb in for at least a few minutes. I like the method I'm using because it covers two steps in one - disinfecting and oiling. Just saying.

For barbicide, to actually completely disinfect something, instructions say to immerse for 10 minutes. That would probably be true for most things to actually disinfect.

I'm looking for some rust protection and a dry blade, the Barbicide has the rust protection, guess I could do the same as yourself, dip it in and wipe the excess off.

I've got to get a hold of some of those silicone razor socks, a new blade I got came in one of those, I posted a thread about them, and they really seem like the bee's knee's for storage.

Anyhow, off to do some more research on the barbicide...

Nice looking area Richard, the only thing is that your clock is wrong, it's 10.35, not 3.25.

Ed, the world live everywhere and wears different hats. And yours is on backward since you are how many hours and days ahead, or behind, or sideways to the rest of the world? If I ask you tomorrow what's happening the next day will I be getting the reply yesterday? Inquiring minds want to know.
