I'll answer your first question a little later (because I'm a mongrel like that), but as for "Mrs Mick", so far she has always managed to be in the bathroom adding the finishing touches before skipping off to work when I'm taking my brekky shots. It wouldn't seem anymore strange to her than me shaving with a cut-throat anyway. She knows I'm a little strange. I was even telling her I might start dressing in the Steam-Punk style. She said. "Steam what? You just dress however you want, just don't get arrested."

I think karen thinks I am a bit odd, and sometimes a touch obsessive about things, she finds it a bit bizzare when I am looking for pictures of stuff for my posts, but most of my activity is when I am away for work, it really helps to fill the time trying to find images for Carl posts etc.

So further to the 'Mites I listed, I've just found out that 'Our Mate' is actually the proper British Marmite, whereas Marmite sold as such is the New Zealand version of the Brit stuff, and tastes different. Bloody Kiwi's seem to have nearly all of the 'Mites to themselves. Britain has to sell under a name change here, but the Kiwi's can flog their Marmite as 'Marmite' with the Sanitarium brand name on the label. British stuff is sold under the Unilever trademark.

Since I'm back on the subject, I may as well tell you that the only one of the three 'Mites in my photo that is Aussie owned and made, is Aussiemite. Both Promite and Vegemite are owned by the bloody Kiwi's. The other Ozemite is wholly Australian as well. Dick Smith wouldn't have it any other way. Why we ever sold out Vegemite I'll never understand, or if I ever understand, could never forgive regardless of the reason.

Funny...I was showing one of the residents some pics on my camera when he caught a glimpse of my Marmite and toast pic. He and his wife spent some time over in England. He asked me just about the same question. I chuckled and proudly bragged about having a 500 gram tub of the stuff.......Yep, and now I'm gonna make some marmite toast yay !!

Should really had two pig products as well, actually there was ham on*the egg benedict, phew.
Mmmmm, nice thick bread toasted, loads of butter, none of that margarine rubbish, goodly amount of mite of choice, or bovril.
What do you do to warm your toast plate?

Huh ?? Never needed a warmed toast plate. It doesn't stay on the plate long enough to get cold.

When you make 4 or more slices, if the plate isn't warm the bottom slice is cold by the time you get to it.
I either pop the plate on the stove so that the heat from the grill warms it, or pop it under the grill tray.
If I am using the toaster I will fill the bowl of the plate with boiling water from the kettle, I will simply fit h the water and dry the plate before putting the toast on it.
At work we have industrial toasters so I put the plate upside down on top if the toaster with the lip protruding over the edge slightly, so that heat from the toaster will rise and warm it up, the top if the toaster us warm too, so you can put hard butter there to soften.

Well Steph, you could always just sit it on the toaster for a bit, or you could pour a bit of hot water onto it if the toaster isn't an option...Or you could always not bother with these finicky British ways, since we don't live in a cold arsed climate like that, and therefore don't need to worry ourselves over much...But you do live in Denver though, so I suppose for six months of the year it might be a relevant question .

Like I said...it doesn't stay on the plate long enough and as for softend butter...I use a French butter crock so my butter is always spreadable. My biggest dilemma is...should the butter nife go into the butter first or the marmite crock. I mean should one have butter mixed in the mite or mite mixed in the butter crock or do ya have three knives ,one for butter ,one for mite and one for spreadin......this would be a good Mick question .
