Wid,
I wound up spraying my pan with oven cleaner then wrapping in a plastic bag for about a week.. It actually came out nice.. Now I have to season it.. I'll try ur method and see how it goes..my problem was after seasoning it stuff would still stick to the pan..

Thanked: 580Looked at some new Lodge cast pans yesterday, still made in the US, pricey and look the part, but the casting on the cooking face does look quite rough. The Le Creuset pans in the same store were totally smooth,and the one we have is a great pan.
