Thanked: 1160So today I may get a teakettle because I thought it might be nice to have for the obviouse reason of boiling water for tea. I use a saucepan currently which has worked perfectly fine, but a kettle sounds like a good idea. Thing is....I am stunned at how expensive the danged things are. All for the sake of boiling water....WTH ??!!

Thanked: 0I LOVE drinking the green tea used in the Japanese Tea Ceremony which is: MATCHA/MACCHA
This tea is one of THE HEALTHIEST beverages out there; instead of drinking just the water soluble nutrients, which steeped tea is, you ingest the WHOLE tea leaf which is ground into a fine powder mixed with water and is extremely good for you. Plus the caffeine is a lot easier on the body and mind; you don't get the head rush or the crash like you do with coffee. The L-Theanine (an amino acid) which helps the body absorb the caffeine slower, is easier on a person...it relaxes you and yet keeps you alert for the day! MATCHA is a wonderful tea to drink any time of day.
I LOVE MATCHA!

Thanked: 198Onto a different subject. I stopped in at an antique store that I knowbtye owner of. Some time back she had the bottom half of a samovar in there, well its back. If they can find the kettle to it, I may finally own it. Only downside is that its a wood burner type, so i will have to fire it up outside the bring it inside.

Thanked: 1160You can always just get a teapot to fit it. Personally after much consideration and thought on the matter, I have decided not to get one. A pot is good for me as a Samovar is good for large crowds. It would be like getting a coffee urn for myself if I were a coffee drinker.
