    Default Mustard !!

Well..it's not tea and the only thing it would have to do with tea is the fact that Bilbo might have some in his pantry for tea sandwiches......works fer me then ! So DonV sent me some brown mustard seeds and powdered yellow mustard a little while back....here is the result.......stone ground(I used a mortar n pestle) smoked mustard. I used liquid smoke, smoked Spanish paprika some salt and apple cider vinegar. I also did it with warm water instead of cold as I didn't want it volcano hot. We shall see and taste the results tomorrow. It's gotta cure for a bit. Aaaand...it just so happens that I have some beautiful San Francisco sourdough that the boss brought me back for cat sitting for him along with some decent Virginia ham from the deli and some Colby cheddar. Tomorrow will hopefully turn out to be tealicious ! Think I'll do some straight PG Tips English tea with it. Ahh the Hobbit life !

Plus the caffeine is a lot easier on the body and mind; you don't get the head rush or the crash like you do with coffee. The L-Theanine (an amino acid) which helps the body absorb the caffeine slower, is easier on a person...it relaxes you and yet keeps you alert for the day! MATCHA is a wonderful tea to drink any time of day.

    I LOVE MATCHA!

    What about the taste?
I have never tried matcha because I‘ve heard plenty of times that if has an awful bitter taste.

    Is it true?

Just like every quality tea, none of them has an evident bitter taste.
The more bitter the tea, the worse the quality. This is true for matcha as well as for any other tea.

Indeed, matcha does have a bitterness—that's just how it is—but the type of bitterness depends on the quality.

A good quality matcha will be kind of...i dunno, smooth, I suppose, and It'll have a good sweetness as well as an underlying bitterness.

I suppose I've been fortunate enough not to have bought a low quality matcha, yet, though I certainly have made bad bowls matcha, where ther bitterness is more pronounced and overpowering.

For those who have paid attention to my posts, I buy my tea from Yuuki-Cha and this is very good, especially for the price.

Will post pics of recently opened genmaicha later, too...but shave first!

Well, today is really turning into a crappy day! I have had all I can stand for one day. But, the tea I have going is looking very nice, maybe it can pull me out of the doldrums I find myself in.

Update, it tastes great. Was curious if anyone else ever tried it. It blended nicely in my tea thermos.
