Thanked: 0Of the Canadian provinces, Québec takes the gâteau. A bottle of Laphroaig QC - $65. More like $30-35 in most US states.

Thanked: 32I feel your pain. Virginia has state run liquor stores, so our QC price is about the same as yours, $59.95 no matter what store in the state I go.
Not to mention most of the non-standard releases are not even available. I can't even get Laphroaig cask strength without driving to another state.

Thanked: 0After taking another piece out of my finger....not strictly 'medicine' (ie. Laphroaig!!) but useful for sterilisation of the wound nonetheless.

Thanked: 36Wow, SRP really is where the poeple like me are. I just had a quick flick through this thread and saw photos of almost all my favourite whiskies. Has anyone mentioned Bruichladdich laddie ten? An unpeated islay whisky. Very interesting taste.
While we're on the subject of prices be thankful you're not in Norway. A bottle of Laphroaig QC is 600 kroners which is just over $100.

Sweden is no better than Norway (at least not when it comes to whisky prices).
I love the Laphroaig QC but feel it a little on the heavy side to sit and sip a whole night, usually goes to Laphroaig 10 for that.
But I'm part Finnish and Russian, so I'll drink anything!

Thanked: 36I do most off my whisky shopping in the tax free shop at the airport when I visit my parents in England. I quite like the heaviness of Laphroaig QC and would happily sip it all night, but I understand your point. Last thing at night when the guests have all gone home is the best time for it. I got a bottle of Laphroaig px cask for christmas. It's basically quarter cask with a sweet sherry finish. Very good indeed. Also picked up a bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail on a freind's recommendation. I haven't opened it yet, but will have a dram to celebrate moving into my new apartment in a few days time.
